The College of Public Health Medicine, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, is set to host the 8th edition of the Asia-Pacific Conference on Public Health (APCPH). This biennial conference aims to highlight public health research and practices, particularly in the Asia-Pacific regions. The event provides an avenue for public health practitioners in Malaysia to interact and share knowledge with both regional and global peers. Building on the foundation of the 7th APCPH held in 2022, preparations are underway for the 8th APCPH in 2024.
The 8th APCPH conference will be held from 9-11 July 2024 at Pullman Hotel in Kuching, Sarawak.

7th Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health
Public Health in a Changing World
The 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Public Health with the theme “Public Health in a Changing World” was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel i-City Shah Alam from 2-4 August 2022. The conference was supported by the Ministry of Health Malaysia and in collaboration with the Malaysian Armed Forces Health Services, the Malaysian AIDS Foundation and DoubleTree by Hilton.
The Keynote address was delivered by Datuk Dr Norhayati Binti Rusli the Deputy Director General of Health (Public Health), Ministry of Health Malaysia on behalf of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah the Director-General of Health Malaysia.
The conference was officiated by YB Dato’ Dr Haji Noor Azmi Bin Ghazali the Deputy Health Minister I, Malaysia. There were 1 Plenary, 3 Forums, 12 Parallel Symposium, 4 Special Symposium, 3 Lunch Symposium, and 9 Parallel Oral Sessions. There was a total of 61 oral and 130 poster paper presentations. The conference attracted more than 800 delegates from all over Malaysia.
6th Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health
Urbanisation Challenges for Health
The 6th Asia-Pacific Conference on Public Health was organised by the College of Public Health Medicine, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, supported by the Malaysian Armed Forces Health Services and the Penang State Health Department with support from the Ministry of Health Malaysia. It was held on the 22-25 of July 2019 at the Equatorial Hotel Penang. Populations and communities around the world are exposed to various health risks related to urbanisation. It is hopeful that through these activities, sharing and exchanging ideas and providing possible solutions, we could prepare ourselves for these challenges ahead.
The keynote address was delivered by the Director-General of Health Malaysia, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The programme for the conference consists of 6 pre-conference workshops, 3 plenaries, 12 symposium sessions, 76 oral paper presentations and 205 poster presentations with over 1,000 delegates in attendance.
5th Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health
Realizing the SDGs Aspiration on Health
The 5th Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health with the theme “Realizing the SDGs Aspiration on Health” was organised by the College of Public Health Medicine, Academy of Medicine Malaysia with the support of the Ministry of Health and the Sarawak Convention Bureau. It was held from 10-13 September 2017 at the Riverside Majestic Hotel, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Fostering Innovation in Tackling Double Burden of Disease
The 4th Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health with the theme “Fostering Innovation in Tackling Double Burden of Disease” was organised by the College of Public Health Medicine, Academy of Medicine Malaysia with the support of the Ministry of Health. It was held from 7-9 September 2015 in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia.

Translating Evidence into Public Health Action
The 3rd Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health was organised by the College of Public Health Medicine-Academy of Medicine Malaysia with the support from the Ministry of Health Malaysia. It was held from the 14-15 November 2011 at Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel, Subang Jaya
2nd Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health
The 2nd Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health was organised by the College of Public Health Medicine-Academy of Medicine Malaysia together with the Ministry of Health and University Putra Malaysia from the 03-05 July 2007 at the Subang Shereton Hotel in Petaling Jaya.
The conference was officiated by Dr Shigeru Omi the WHO Western Pacific Regional Director, after the opening he also delivered a paper on “Health and Civilization”. The Director-General of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia, the honourable Tan Sri Datuk Hj Mohd Ismail Merican delivered the keynote address on “Emerging Threats to Public Health”.
1st Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health
New Initiatives in Public Health
The College of Public Health Medicine and the Ministry of Health Malaysia jointly organised the 1st Asia Pacific Conference on Public Health with the theme “New Initiatives in Public Health”. The Conference was held on 30 September to 3 October 2004 at the Palace of the Golden Horses, MINES Resort City, Kuala Lumpur.
The Conference was declared open by YB Datuk Dr Hj Abd Latiff B Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Health on behalf of the Minister of Health Malaysia on 1 October 2004.
