Welcome Message

President of CPHM, AMM

Dear Delegates, Colleagues, and Friends,

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the 8th Asia-Pacific Conference on Public Health (APCPH) 2024, here in the dynamic city of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. This biennial conference has established itself as a significant platform where vital public health issues are addressed by experts from various fields, both locally and internationally.

This year’s theme, “Revitalizing Public Health for a Resilient Future,” is particularly significant as we aim to strengthen our public health systems in the face of evolving global challenges. Public health remains the cornerstone of protecting and improving the health of communities, achieved through promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and effectively responding to infectious diseases. Our mission spans from local neighborhoods to entire regions, ensuring the well-being of diverse populations.

The 8th APCPH is more than just a conference; it is a collaborative effort to shape the future of public health. Through the exchange of knowledge and innovative ideas, we aim to develop strategies that will not only address current challenges but also prepare us for future public health emergencies. This gathering is a testament to our collective commitment to improving the health and well-being of communities across the Asia-Pacific region.

I extend my sincerest gratitude to our partners, including the Sarawak State Health Department, Ministry of Health Malaysia, University of Malaysia, Sarawak (UNIMAS), and other esteemed organizations, for their support in organizing this event.
